![]() ![]() Eligibility criteria of the Ford X-Plan.X plan is not for Ford employees, that's for employees of suppliers, as well as friends and family of Ford Employees/retirees who the Sponsor doesn't give them access to A/Z plan pricing. Personally I directly qualified for X plan, but because my grandfather retired from Ford and I have a good relationship with him I was able to get a z-plan pin and will therefore save more money when my car is delivered without negotiating as it was at least 800 more on X plan than it was on A/Z. Realistically if the dealer offered you a lower price than X plan you can't chose to try and apply X-plan when it won't save you any money, and if you insisted they may say ok we'll give you x-plan but take away the dealer incentive, as you would be trying to double dip and take money on both sides of the equation, and it doesn't work that way. X is approximately 4% +$150 more than A/Z and ends up being higher than the published invoice price.ĭ is for dealership employees, and I'm not as familiar with the amount of the discount for this plan, but its likely on par with X plan. Here are the numbers for you to compare.įinal price with tax, tags and title and $2,000 rebate will be $24,016.Ĭlick to expand.X plan is not for Ford employees, that's for employees of suppliers, as well as friends and family of Ford Employees/retirees who the Sponsor doesn't give them access to A/Z plan pricing.Ī plan is for active Ford employees and direct family members, Z plan is for retirees and their direct families (spouses, children, grandchildren, etc.) A/Z is the highest plan discount, and is generally below the published invoice - holdback including destination and a low $75 document fee limit. It was actually a few dollars higher than Invoice. Just to help you out, and again this will vary by state and how many Focus they have to sell, but the X-plan for me was roughly 10% lower than MSRP. Now, there are many ways for them to make that profit and those dealers trying to tell you they are selling it for less than invoice, wanting you to believe it is less than they paid for it, are nuts. If your dealer tried to use the X-plan and then add in additional discounts, they would be giving away their profit and a dealer must make a profit to stay in business. As you have found though, it is not always the cheapest. Most of the time, depending on market, the X-plan is as good as you will do, especially if you are after a popular car. The D-plan if for dealers and the X-plan is employee pricing. I think they told me that was DSM pricing. However, I am not eligible for that plan. The the A/Z-plan was almost $1,000 lower than the X-plan on my car. There is a A/Z-plan, X-plan, D-plan and invoice. There are actually 5 different pricing levels. They won't do the X-plan and then discount off that too. You need to pick whichever is cheaper for you. Please enlighten me so I can discuss this with them tomorrow! If so, I would think the dealer could apply the X-plan, then give me the same dealer discount and they would still make their same dealer profit while I get my car even cheaper. I doubt the X-plan eliminates dealer profit. (actual profit is higher but lets keep it simple). He said it doesn't work that way and tried to explain but he made no sense to me.ĭealer profit is sell price above invoice. I reasoned that my negotiated price below MSRP was a "dealer discount" to me and the X-plan & other incentives are "manufacturer discounts" to me and are unrelated. (my deal was invoice - incentives) My dealer was going to apply the X-plan but then realized my negotiated deal was already lower. My dealer negotiated price before applying the other Ford incentives is actually lower than X-plan. I ordered it 2 days before I started a new job and my new company has the X-plan agreement with ford. I'm picking up my car and signing papers tomorrow. ![]()
